Love Actually Notting Hill house put on sale for £2m
One of the most iconic film locations in London, a house featured in the Christmas romcom Love Actually, could be yours – for £2m.
The two-bedroom house on St. Luke Mews in Westbourne Park is just four downs down from the one Kiera Knightley’s character Juliet and her husband Peter – played by Chiwetel Ejiofor – live in, in Richard Curtis’s award-winning movie.
An exterior shot of the property can been seen in the scene where Mark (Andrew Lincoln) confesses his love for Juliet.
In the scene, Mark knocks on the door and asks Juliet to tell her husband Peter that he is a group of carol singers. He then plays carols through a boombox, and silently reveals to Juliet that he loves her through a series of cue cards.
As he walks away, Juliet chases him down the street and kisses him, before returning inside.
David Roberts, Notting Hill Sales manager at Foxtons Estate Agents, told the Daily Mail: “It is indeed the street from Love Actually with Keira Knightly and the writing on the cards!
“The area is quintessentially Notting Hill, moments from Portobello Road and one of the prettiest mews streets in the area.
“The houses rarely come up in this area, and this particular vendor has owned the property for over 20 years.”
According to its listing, the “charming” two-bedroom house boasts a “spacious” reception room, open-plan kitchen with space to dine, master bedroom with an suite, “ample sized” second bedroom with an en-suite, and sauna room.
It also comes with roof access, and is close to amenities and transport links, Foxtons said.
The asking price has already been reduced by £250,000, as the house has been on the market since September.
The property was originally built as stables in the 18th century. It is now is now worth double what it was 16 years ago when Love Actually hit theatres.
