After squandering a second-half lead against Florida State last week in front of the first home crowd of the season, Louisville football will take the field at Cardinal Stadium looking to get back on track against South Florida.

The Cardinals (1-2, 0-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) and Bulls (1-2) are scheduled to kick off against each other for the first time since 2013 at noon Saturday.

U of L is looking for its fourth consecutive victory against USF and has won six of the teams' past 10 matchups dating back to 2004. The last time the Cardinals and Bulls squared off, Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater threw for 344 yards and three touchdowns en route to a 34-3 win in Tampa.

USF heads into town fresh off a 31-28 loss to No. 20 Florida in The Swamp. Coach Jeff Scott's team opened the season with a 29-point loss against No. 19 BYU and beat Howard by 22 points in Week 2.

Louisville pushed its lead to 38-3 when junior tailback Tiyon Evans punched in a 3-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter. Evans, a Tennessee transfer who was sidelined from last week's loss to Florida State due to an injury, has scored a touchdown in each of the three games he has played in for the Cardinals.

Louisville took a 28-0 lead into halftime thanks in part to interceptions from Chandler Jones and Ballard High School grad Josh Minkins before the intermission.

Jones picked off USF quarterback Gerry Bohanon at the Cardinals' 38-yard line with 2:24 to play in the second quarter. Minkins followed that up on the Bulls' next possession with an interception at U of L's 2-yard line.

Malik Cunningham makes NCAA history with third rushing touchdown vs. USF - 6:12, 2Q

Louisville crossed the end zone twice during a drive late in the first half, but the scores were vacated by a video review and a penalty, respectively. Turns out, a third time was the charm, with Malik Cunningham scrambling 8 yards for his third rushing touchdown of the afternoon.

On the scoring play, Cunningham became just the eighth player in FBS history to pass for 8,000 yards and rush for 3,000 yards in a career.

Malik Cunningham scampers for 35-yard rushing touchdown, his second vs. USF - 10:53, 2Q

After overthrowing a wide-open receiver in the end zone on third and 5, Malik Cunningham responded on fourth down with another touchdown run, this one from 35 yards out. The Cardinals' quarterback evaded one would-be tackler at the line of scrimmage but had a clear path into the end zone from there — until he got tripped up by the field goal net, that is. U of L took a 21-0 lead over USF with the score.

Louisville native Jaelin Carter's hauls in diving touchdown catch, his first as a Cardinal - 3:39, 1Q

It took Louisville native Jaelin Carter four weeks to haul in his first catch as a member of the Cardinals, but the wait proved to be worth it. The Manual High School grad and Eastern Kentucky University transfer dove across the goal line to snag a 26-yard pass from Malik Cunningham. U of L took a 14-0 lead over USF on the ensuing extra point.

Malik Cunningham gets Louisville football on the scoreboard with 40-yard touchdown run - 7:05, 1Q
