Louisiana high school football scores, live updates from LHSAA Week 5

Welcome to Week 5 of the LHSAA football season. We will be at the midway point after this week.

Here is a look at some of the top games in the state:

In the Shreveport area, Captain Shreve (3-1) at Parkway (4-0) is tops in the area. The outcome of this area could be so razor thin that kicker Aeron Burrell may be the difference maker for Parkway.

In the Lafayette area, Cecilia (3-1) plays at Notre Dame. From the outset, this game always had potential to be really good. And it looks like it will be. Cecilia nearly beat Southside, and its offense racks up more than 40 points each time out. Notre Dame, ranked fourth in 2A, didn't have its best outing against Teurlings Catholic last Friday but it knocked off Southside in Week 1. These two teams look about even and it should be a back-and-forth affair all night.

In Monroe, Neville (3-1) and Ruston (3-1) provide the top game. For LSU fans, this is a a chance to see commitment Zalance Heart, a Neville offensive tackle. Neville also has Louisiana-Lafayette commitment Matthew Fobbs-White.
