Ontario Lotto 6/49 player stunned by win: 'Five or six million is just the right amount'

Frank Jarman, $6 million Lotto 6/49 winner (OLG)

A lottery player from the Etobicoke area of Toronto is the most recent Lotto 6/49 millionaire, after winning $6 million from the June 4 draw.

"I was at my regular store doing my lottery business, when I checked my ticket using the ticket checker," self-employed Frank Jarman said after his big win. "When I saw $6 million appear on the screen I jumped back, and then checked it again. I didn't believe what I was seeing so I asked the store clerk for a printout of the winning numbers."

"My wife saw the look on my face and asked what happened and I said, 'I think we can retire!'"

Jarman has been a regular lottery player since the late 1970s. He plans to invest his money and complete some home renovations as well.

"I’ll take some time for this to settle in before making any big decisions," Jarman said. "I feel so blessed and extremely fortunate."

"I always said five or six million is just the right amount."

The winning ticket was purchased at Petro Canada on Burnhamthorpe Road in Etobicoke.

Lotto 6/49 players in Ontario have won over $13.7 billion in prizes since 1982, including 1,421 jackpot wins and 422 Guaranteed $1 Million Prize draws.

Lotto 6/49 is $3 per play and draws take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
