Pumpkin patches, haunted houses, festivals, and more are here to bring in autumn. If you are hoping to take the family out on an adventure or want to have fun with friends this list has something for everyone.

Boo at the Zoo

Daily until October 31. See Zoosiana transformed into a spooky experience for the entire family. Admission includes all regular zoo features and a free trick-or-treat bag for children 12 and younger. Fright Trails

Fridays and Saturdays through October 31. One of the state's most popular haunted attractions is back for the 11th year. This immersive walk through the haunted woods of Scott is sure to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. For the first time, Fright Trails is introducing "Fright without Lights." On October 30 and 31 the trails will be completely dark and only lit by a headlamp. Fright Trails is not recommended for children under eight and all children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult. For ticket prices visit frighttrail.com/tickets. Pumpkin Patch at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church

October 7-31. Looking for the spirit of Halloween without the scares? Try this local pumpkin patch. Open daily it offers photo areas and pumpkins for purchase throughout the week with concessions, face painting, professional photographers, and vendors on the weekends. Pumpkins are priced between $1-$50 depending on size. Wagons are recommended for large purchases. Gulf Brew Festival

October 22, 1-5 p.m. The annual celebration of all things beer in Downtown Lafayette features more than 200 different craft beers from local breweries and some from across the country. This outdoor adventure is complete with live music and food for purchase. There is an afterparty at Rock-n-Bowl downtown following the event. 15th Annual Boudin Cookoff and Acadiana Bacon Fest

October 22, 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Did somebody say bacon? This event brings together two of the area's festivals to celebrate the love of all things pork. Admission is free. Tickets are required for boudin tasting. This year's competitors come from across the state and Texas. There will be live music, eating contests, fun jumps, games, and free desserts. This event will take place at Parc International Downtown.

Boo Bayou Fall Festival

October 22, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Vermillionville is hosting a family-friendly Halloween event complete with games, face painting, balloon animals, movies, trick-or-treating, and more. Children and adults are invited to dress up in costumes. There will be lots of photo opportunities. Admission is $5 for everyone over the age of two.

Blackpot cook-off

October 28-29 This 16th annual celebration of southern cooking will take place at Vermillionville. The weekend will be filled with music, dancing, camping, and food. Overnight camping is available with the purchase of a weekend pass. Daily passes are also an option and allow for access until midnight. To purchase tickets visit www.blackpotfestival.com.

Autumn in the Oaks

October 29, 5-8 p.m. Enjoy hay rides, mazes, food, and fun for all at Moncus Park. Kick off your Halloween weekend with a fall fair for all ages. Admission to this event is free.
