Longmont police notes: Driver points what looks like weapon at officer, flees police

May 10—Longmont police on Friday attempted to contact a vehicle at Hover Street and 11th Avenue for not having any license plates. The driver pointed what appeared to be a handgun at the officer and fled. The occupants of the vehicle were eventually stopped in Berthoud, and the driver was taken into custody. He was later transported to the Boulder County Jail for eluding and multiple other charges.

Two boys were seen painting graffiti on fences in the alley between Spencer Street and Sherri Mar Street on Friday. Longmont police responded to the reported criminal mischief.

A man was reported to be slumped over in a vehicle on Friday in the 1200 block of Pace Street. Longmont police responded for a welfare check. The man was found to be in possession of a large quantity of suspected fentanyl pills and had several warrants for his arrest. The case was cleared by arrest.
