Long-anticipated Burial Beer Co. finally has an opening date for its Plaza Midwood taproom

Asheville-based Burial Beer Co. finally has an opening date in Charlotte. Its Plaza Midwood taproom and expanded bottle shop — called The House of Relics — are opening in the former Boris & Natasha space June 4.

”The character of great places cannot be made out of thin air, and we felt that our new Plaza Midwood home gave us the ability to revive an epic fixture of its history,” said Doug Reiser, Burial’s co-founder and chief operating officer. He founded the brewery with his wife, Jess Reiser, and Tim Gormley.

WHAT TO EXPECT

TAPROOM: The new taproom will feature:

  • A variety of beer styles, from lagers and wild ales to the brewery’s popular IPAs and stouts.

  • A food menu, which includes sandwiches, charcuterie and other goods from local vendors.

“It’s not even about beer,” Reiser told CharlotteFive last year. “But immersive experiences require you to make really good beer, with a great story with amazing imagery and a really good vibe and aura to the space, with good people. All those things are required, and we feel this space gives us the best opportunity to do that.”
