Lockdown lifted at Edgewood middle, high schools

UPDATE: The lockdown at Edgewood middle and high school buildings was lifted late Tuesday morning, officials announced.

"It has been determined that there is no immediate threat to the safety of the students and staff," a message to families reads.

Authorities had placed the schools on lockdown Tuesday due to "a photograph on social media" that displayed a threat to the school, officials said. This threat came five days after a separate social media threat was made to the district.

The district investigated a social media threat on Thursday, too. The district closed all of its schools "out of an abundance of caution," but ultimately investigators determined the threat to be unfounded.
