Coshocton student wins essay contest

COSHOCTON — Lilah Lapper of Coshocton Junior High School won first overall in the 23rd annual Laws of Life essay contest sponsored by the Better Business Bureau and its Center for Character Ethics.

The contest celebrates students’ core values, ideals and principles by which everyone lives. Essays focus on a law of life of the student’s choosing. The contest challenges young people to discover through reflection and writing what matters most to them in their own lives and the principles they believe should guide their behaviors and choices. More than $2,150 in awards were given to 19 students.

Democratic Central Committee to meet

COSHOCTON — The Coshocton County Democratic Central Committee will meet in regular session at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Coshocton County Services Building, 724 S. Seventh St. Topics will include the Memorial Day parade and upcoming campaign season.

City council meeting

Coshocton City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, in council chambers. The meeting can be viewed live on YouTube, Coshocton City Hall Channel.
