Local closings announced as Central Louisiana under tornado watch
The National Weather Service In Lake Charles is predicting severe thunderstorms that could produce hail, damaging winds or tornadoes for this afternoon through tonight in Central Louisiana.
Here are some closings that have been announced because of today's severe weather threat. The list will be updated throughout the day:
All Northwestern State University campuses are closing at noon.
Grant Parish schools are closing.
Rapides Parish Library branches will close at 3 p.m.
Today's ASH Feeder System Literacy Event has been cancelled. The grade levels that were set for today are invited to the event on Wednesday.
Holy Savior Menard High School has postponed Christmas at the Nest until tomorrow.
