Akron-area high school football scoreboard: Hoban holds off STVM; Highland, Hudson roll
With the possibility it won't be played next year hanging over the 2022 "Holy War," rivals Archbishop Hoban and St. Vincent-St. Mary served notice of why it is such a great rivalry.
The top-ranked and unbeaten Knights turned a 0-0 halftime tie into a 21-0 lead early in the fourth quarter before the Fighting Irish rallied to make it 21-14 and had the ball back with less than two minutes to go.
The Knights eventually held on downs and scored a late touchdown for a 28-14 victory over the once-beaten and No. 5 Fighting Irish.

After taking over on downs, Lamar Sperling scores on a 35-yard run for Hoban and the Knights are gonna hold off the Fighting Irish with a 28-14 lead and less than a minute to go in a wild rivalry game.

After cutting a 21-0 Hoban lead to 21-14, STVM had the ball at the Hoban 43 but failed to convert a fourth down and the Knights take over with 1:33 to go.

A 29-yard touchdown run by Xavier Williams gives the undefeated and top-ranked Knights a 14-0 lead over the No. 5 and once-beaten Fighting Irish.

A touchdown and a 2-point conversion have put the Grizzlies back on top 21-14 in the third quarter.
Stow looking for upset of Nordonia
Trailing 7-0 after the first quarter, the Bulldogs outscored the Knights 21-3 in the second quarter and lead 21-10 at halftime.

After recovering a fumbled punt, the Knights take advantage with a touchdown run by Lamar Sperling and lead the Irish 7-0 after the third quarter.
Jackson Daugherty leads Tallmadge
Jackson Daugherty has scored on a run and on a fumble recovery and the Blue Devils lead Kent Roosevelt 42-14 at halftime.
Copley ahead of Revere
Trailing 10-0, the Minutemen scored in the final minute of the first half to cut Copley's lead to 10-7.
Robby Klockner leads Green
Quarterback Robby Klockner has thrown three touchdown passes, two to Antonio Martin and one to Zach Baglia, and the Bulldogs lead Perry 24-14 at the half.
CVCA leads Orrville at the half
After a 7-7 first quarter, the Royals outscored the Red Raiders 17-14 in the second and lead 24-21 at the half.
Walsh Jesuit will open second half with running clock
The No. 4-ranked Warriors scored late in the second quarter to take a 35-3 lead over Mentor Lake Catholic and will open the second half with a running clock.
