Live blog: Week 10 college football Saturday with Yahoo Sports

No. 7 Oregon 56, USC 24
The Ducks (8-1, 6-0 Pac-12) completely took over after trailing USC (5-4, 4-2) 10-0 early. With the win, Oregon remains unbeaten in conference play and keeps its slim playoff hopes alive.
On Saturday, the momentum shifted when Oregon picked off Trojans QB Kedon Slovis and converted that into a touchdown in the second quarter.
That was one of three interceptions thrown by Slovis, and one was returned for a touchdown.
Oregon put the exclamation mark on a wild finish to the first half with Mykael Wright’s 100-yard kick return to the house.

Oregon QB Justin Herbert passed for three scores and ran for another.

No. 4 Clemson 59, Wofford 14
QB Trevor Lawrence completed 12-of-16 passes for 218 yards and three TDs and RB Travis Etienne rushed for 212 yards and two scores for the Tigers (9-0), who have never lost to an FCS opponent.

No. 8 Georgia 24, No. 6 Florida 17
There was no controversy about this Jake Fromm-to-Lawrence Cager connection.
A 52-yard strike between the Georgia QB and WR — as well as the subsequent two-point conversion between the duo — opened up a 24-10 lead with 10:01 left in the game.
Florida came right back, however. The Gators went on a 17-play, 75-yard drive, capped by a 2-yard TD pass from Kyle Trask to Freddie Swain, to make it 24-17 with 3:28 to play.
Georgia was able to run out the clock, however, getting a key third-and-7 conversion on a 22-yard completion from Fromm to Eli Wolf.
In the first half, Georgia (7-1, 4-1 SEC) scored a TD that was set up by a Fromm-to-Cager catch — that may not have been a catch — as the Bulldogs built a 10-point halftime lead.

Florida (7-2, 4-2) scored its first TD early in the fourth quarter on a 23-yard pass from Trask to Van Jefferson to pull within 16-10.

No. 9 Utah 33, Washington 28
The Huskies beat the Utes in last year's Pac-12 title game.
Utah got its revenge.
The Utes (8-1, 5-1 Pac-12) took their first lead of the game on a 1-yard run by QB Tyler Huntley with 11:23 remaining and added a Zack Moss TD run with 4:52 to play.
Washington kept its hopes alive with a 19-play, 75-yard drive — converting three fourth downs, including a Jacob Eason-to-Aaron Fuller 3-yard TD pass — to cut the lead to five with 1:40 remaining.
Utah, however, recovered the onside kick and ran out the clock.
Washington (5-4, 2-4) led most of the game thanks to three TD passes from Eason, who finished with four on the afternoon.
Eason, however, also threw a pick-six in the third quarter that cut the lead to 21-19 (Utah missed the two-point conversion that could have tied the game) and also fumbled deep in Huskies’ territory in the first half, which led to a Utes field goal.

No. 11 Auburn 20, Ole Miss 14
The Tigers (7-2, 4-2 SEC) — who have games remaining against Georgia and Alabama at home in November — managed to avoid a major letdown against the Rebels (3-6, 2-4). But it was surprisingly close.

No. 14 Michigan 38, Maryland 7
The Wolverines (7-2, 4-2 Big Ten) scored on the opening kickoff — and never looked back.
Nick Charbonnet had two TD first-half TD runs as Michigan bolted to a 21-0 halftime lead on the way to its fifth victory in six games.
And it all started on the first play of the game.

Maryland (3-6, 1-5) avoided the shutout with a 97-yard kickoff return TD of its own by Javon Leake in the third quarter to make it 35-7.

No. 24 Memphis 54, No. 15 SMU 48
The Tigers (8-1, 4-1 AAC) handed the Mustangs (8-1, 4-1) their first loss of the season after outlasting them in a crazy shootout.
Brady White threw for 350 yards and three touchdowns to lead Memphis to the impressive victory.

No. 16 Notre Dame 21, Virginia Tech 20
It was a storybook ending for Ian Book.
The Notre Dame QB scored on a 7-yard TD run with 29 seconds left — and the Irish (6-2) barely made the extra point — to earn a one-point win against the Hokies (5-3), who saw their four-game winning streak snapped.
Notre Dame began the winning drive at its own 13 with 3:33 left and had to convert a fourth-and-5 at its own 20-yard line to keep the drive going. It was an 18-play, 87-yard march.
Earlier, a stunning turn of events nearly cost Notre Dame.
The Irish seemed ready to take a two-touchdown lead late in the first half, but Jafar Armstrong fumbled and the Hokies’ Divine Deablo recovered and returned it 98 yards for a score to make it 14-14.
Virginia Tech got two second-half field goals from Brian Johnson — the second with 13:25 left in the game — to open up a six-point lead.
Notre Dame was driving to take the lead. The Irish converted a fourth-and-5 at the VT 16 to set up first-and-goal at the 9. But a 15-yard illegal block penalty pushed the ball back to the 18, and the Irish ended up missing a field-goal attempt with 7:02 to play.

No. 17 Cincinnati 46, East Carolina 43
Sam Crosa’s 32-yard field goal as time expired saved the night for Cincinnati and completed a wild comeback.
After trailing by as many as 12 points in the fourth quarter, the Bearcats (7-1, 4-0 AAC) rallied back on the pesky Pirates (3-6, 0-5).
East Carolina quarterback Nolton Ahlers gave Cincinnati trouble all night, throwing four TD passes and run for another, though his pick-six put the Bearcats in front in the fourth quarter.
Michael Warren II ran for 140 yards and 3 TDs for Cincinnati.

No. 22 Kansas State 38, Kansas 10
The Wildcats (6-2, 3-2 Big 12) shocked then-No. 5 Oklahoma last week and they blew out the Jayhawks (3-6, 1-5) this week thanks to three TD runs from QB Skylar Thompson.
No. 23 Wake Forest 44, N.C. State 10
QB Jamie Newman had two TD runs and three TD passes — all to Jack Freudenthal — as the Demon Deacons (7-1, 3-1 ACC) rolled past the Wolfpack (4-4, 1-3).
After trailing 24-0, Devin Leary — the third starting QB for N.C. State this season — threw a 3-yard TD pass to Cary Angeline to get the Wolfpack on the board. They added a field goal 4:16 before halftime.

The Huskers dropped to 4-5 with a brutal 31-27 road loss to Purdue on Saturday.
