Roncalli Elementary School has gotten a new "little library."

The Jeanne Webb Little Library is outside of the school and is named after the fourth-grade teacher who taught at Roncalli for many years and died in the spring.

Tammy Kost, principal at Roncalli Elementary, said the idea was initially discussed in the summer as Webb's family wanted to find a way to memorialize her.

Webb's family decided on the library because Webb loved libraries and could always be found with a book in her hand, said Kost.

Students and the public are free to take books and can choose to return them. The library is also taking donations from anyone who wishes to drop books off.

Kost said Roncalli will also continue to provide books for the library, and students will work to help stock and clean the books, with classrooms rotating throughout the year.

The library is in front of Roncalli Elementary School at 501 Third Ave. S.E.
