Linton wrestling beats Mobridge-Pollock (SD.)
Jan. 22—The Linton/Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock wrestling team got a tiebreaker win Thursday, Jan. 20, over Mobridge-Pollock.
The Lions (2-2) had nine wrestlers at the dual. The Tigers (0-2) had seven wrestlers at the dual.
The day started with three consecutive forfeit wins for the Lions, with Gerard Goldade, Holter Bridwell and Hope Mittleider getting the wins.
The Tigers' Wyatt Wientjes got a pinfall win over Garrett Zink in the first match of the day. In the next match, the Tigers' Mark Sandquist got a pinfall win over Blake Odden. After the Tigers' Dylan Berg won by forfeit, the Tigers' Remington Ford got the pinfall win over Blake Ketterling.
After a double forfeit, the Lions' Landon Schumacher got the win over Day Day Heminger by pinfall. After another forfeit win, the Tigers' Jesse Bears Heart got a win over Dominic Vetter.
The next three matches would all be forfeits with the score tied at 36. As a result of the tie, the dual went to a tiebreaker where the Lions won 5-2 by winning more matches by forfeit.
The Lions move on to the second day of the Lisbon-Storhaug Invitational at 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22.
