Ponytails can look so chic – this is, if you know how to do them. Sadly, I don’t fall into that camp. Any time I attempt to style my hair into a ponytail, it’s left looking a bit flat and limp. Or, I manage to achieve that Founding Father finish – a vibe I really wasn’t aiming for.

Thankfully, though, Chris Appleton has revealed his genius hack to upgrading your ponytail and making it look thicker.

Chris is the go-to hairstylist for countless A-listers, including Jennifer Lopez, Dua Lipa and, of course, the entire Kardashian/Jenner family. He often shares his wisdom and tricks on how to make your hair routine a whole lot easier.

Previous tutorials have included how to achieve beach waves in under five minutes, how to hide greasy roots, how to cut your own fringe and, more recently, how to achieve the perfect messy bun.

Now, the hairstylist is focusing on how to amp up your ponytail and I am ALL ears with a notepad and pen. As a reminder, here's some of Chris' epic ponytail work:

Posting the tutorial on Instagram, he begins: “You’re going to need two elastics. All you do is split the hair into two and pull the top half up into a high ponytail.

"Secure it with your elastic and then you split the underneath [section] into two and you put it on top of the previous ponytail.”

Instantly, the ponytail in the video looks a whole lot of voluminous. “What this is gonna do is basically make you look like you’ve got double the amount of hair," he adds.

“This is great for anybody with fine hair and it just makes your ponytail look really full and glam. Try it out!”

You're a wizard, Chris. Trying this ASAP.
