Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has compared Brexit to a “bad trip” - calling the country’s politicians “d***heads”.

The singer, who was renowned for his hell-raising ways during the 90s Brit Pop era, made the comments while discussing politics with the Daily Mirror’s Halina Watts.

Discussing Brexit, the 47-year-old said: “It’s like a bad trip.

“It’s just going round. You turn on the TV and it’s some geezer going ‘I don’t know what’s going on’.

“Come on, you f***king d**kheads. You all went to Eton, you went to all these fish schools. Come on you idiots.”

The singer went on to admit neither of the two main parties appeal to him.

He said: “I definitely would’t do Conservative. Labour I can’t do, I’m not sure about them. It would be the Green Party – that is the only party that makes sense.

“We know for a fact that the world is in a bad place; we know that we need to do more, but the other clowns are going, ‘we are going to do this’ and ‘we are going to do that’ and then they get into power and do f*** all.”

It isn’t the first time one of the Gallagher brothers has waded into the Brexit issue.

Noel has previously described the idea to leave the EU as “nonsensical” but said those trying to overturn the decision were undemocratic.

He told the Manchester Evening News: “There’s only one f***ing thing worse that a fool who voted for Brexit. That’s the rise of the c***s trying to get the vote overturned.

“You take part in a democratic process - if you don’t like the outcome, go to North Korea… I sat the day of Brexit and thought: ‘I can’t be arsed going to the polling station, who the f**k would vote to leave Europe? It’s a nonsensical f***ing idea.’”

Liam Gallagher’s second solo album Why Me? Why Not was released on Friday.
