Letters to the editor: People's puzzling beliefs; putting mothers-to-be first

What are some people thinking?

There are so many people that really puzzle me. I don’t understand them at all. They include those who are against wearing a mask during the pandemic and those who don’t get vaccinated. COVID-19 has killed almost 800,000 Americans. I wonder how many of those would be still alive if they had been vaccinated. Probably over 700,000. I also don’t understand those who say President Joe Biden lost the 2020 election without the slightest bit of proof. I also would include the anti-democratic racists.

Reach out to mothers-to-be

Re: The Associated Press’ Nov. 21 story, “Courtroom clashes won’t abate if Roe falls”:

In response to the article stating that people who want to end their pregnancies will find a way to do so. “The need will always be there.” It also read “some could face drives of hundreds of miles to reach the nearest clinic; others might obtain abortion pills by mail.”

Instead of being concerned about the people who will find ways to have an abortion, it’s time to reach out to them. Let’s be concerned about what we can do to save a life and the mental condition of a distraught mother-to-be. There is help available in every state. We have many locally. I’m sure most intelligent people know that science has proven life begins at conception. A heartbeat means there is life. To stop a heartbeat means that a life has been taken. It’s that simple.
