Why won't Gov. DeWine debate?

We have to ask ourselves why someone who has been in office as long as Mike DeWine is afraid to debate his Democratic opponent. Does he feel that his record of being linked to the FirstEnergy scandal will become the focus of the debates? Is he concerned that he won’t be able to defend his record of signing bills, opposed by law enforcement, that have made weapons more available?

Voters want debates. They learn about candidates’ positions and whether they’re able to defend them. Candidates whose views are unpopular and can’t defend their policy choices don’t like to admit it to the electorate. Maybe that’s the real reason DeWine is frightened of the possibility of debating Nan Whaley.

Tell DeWine that running away from debates won’t work.
