LeBron James captures NBA career scoring title: How the world reacted
LeBron James officially holds the NBA scoring title.
The basketball superstar broke the record on Tuesday night during the third quarter of the Los Angeles Lakers' game against the Oklahoma City Thunder with a jumper to pass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's mark of 38,387 points.
James also has played for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat in his NBA journey that brought him to breaking the record for most career points in NBA history.
In attendance at the game were Abdul-Jabbar, James' former Heat teammate Dwyane Wade, rap mogul Jay Z and his wife Savannah.
Upon breaking the record, athletes, celebrities and sports teams from around the sports world congratulated James, who is from Akron, Ohio, has won four NBA championships and also tied Abdul-Jabbar this season for most NBA All-Star appearances.
