At least 180,000 Russian troops injured or killed in war against Ukraine, says Norwegian defense chief

But considering the mobilisation potential of Russia, Kristoffersen believes that despite heavy losses the Kremlin "will be able to continue (this war) for quite a long time."

He said that Ukrainian losses are probably over 100,000 of soldiers killed or injured, and about 30,000 of civilians killed.

The Norwegian general didn't explain how he had reached these figures.

Kristoffersen also called on Ukraine’s military allies to supply the country with battle tanks as soon as possible.

On Jan. 20, Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, said that Russia suffered well over 100,000 of its soldiers killed and called the number "a tremendous amount of casualties.”

According to the Ukraine's military General Staff's morning update as of Jan. 23, about 720 Russian invaders were eliminated in the past day alone, and about 121,480 of them have been killed since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Ukraine's Minister of Defense Oleksiy Reznikov said about 500 or 600 of Russian troops are being eliminated daily. He stressed that Ukrainian losses are ten times less.
