Latest innovation from orthopedic tool manufacturer improves efficiency and speed of skeletal traction

VANCOUVER, BC, May 6, 2021 /PRNewswire/ - A new kit to improve the efficiency and speed of trauma centers in performing skeletal traction, while maintaining sterility, has launched from Arbutus Medical, a global leader in converting hardware power drills into FDA-compliant orthopedic power tools. The new SteriTrak® kit is now available for use by US and Canadian trauma centers and hospital emergency departments. Practitioners can now efficiently stabilize a patient's painful fracture to ultimately improve patient care.

The SteriTrak® kit includes a specialized pin and single-use drill cover in the same package. The FDA and Health Canada-cleared DeWalt Drill, batteries, and charger are added at no cost to the hospital. The single-use pre-sterilized cover removes the need to autoclave the power tool. The SteriTrak® kits from Arbutus Medical can be stored in the ER with no need for additional sterilizing.
