Lafayette business embraces chance to uplift holiday spirits

LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Having the ability to double your generosity during Christmas has to be a great feeling.

Casey's Remodeling, on Schuyler Avenue in Lafayette, can attest to how great that feels.

Santa, shown at a 2021 company event, will make an appearance Dec. 10 when Casey's Remodeling offers free filled stockings to the first 200 children who arrive. The event will be at Monster Mini Golf from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Last year, the remodeling company held a holiday giveaway where 100 children received stockings filled with goodies. Continuing the tradition into a new Christmas season, Casey's Remodeling will double that number Dec. 10 at Monster Mini Golf, when the first 200 children will receive filled stockings and sock hats.

“This event is a great way to give back to a community my staff and I grew up in," owner Casey Smith told the Journal & Courier. "We have had an incredible response already on social media and calls coming into our office. It’s something our entire team here at Casey’s Remodeling has really enjoyed.”

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 10 at 3573 Promenade Parkway. Attendees can have their photos taken with Santa and a free round of golf will be offered from 11 a.m. to noon.

Casey's Remodeling will be giving away a Nintendo Switch and doing free face paintings.

The response to last year's giveaway fueled the company's desire to continue in 2022.

“Seeing what this meant to families last year and the response we received already this year," said project manager Scott Emery, "shows me how great of an event this really is for the community.”
