Lady Warriors improve to 2-0 with 48-46 win over Jackson Milton

Dec. 3—The Brookfield High girls basketball team improved to 2-0 on Thursday night with a 48-46 win over Jackson Milton in North Jackson, Ohio.

Brookfield jumped out to a 17-7 lead after 8 minutes of play, but the Lady Blue Jays (2-1) cut the lead to 27-26 at halftime.

The Lady Warriors maintained a 1-point lead (38-37) after 3 quarters and held a 10-9 scoring advantage in the final frame to earn the non-league win.

Anna Reichart led the way for Brookfield with 16 points and 4 steals, Sophia Hook drained 4 treys en route to 13 points, Cailey Wellman collected 8 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, and Audrey Reardon added 8 points and dished out 5 assists.

Ava Darney led Jackson Milton with 15 points, Kylie Wilson scored 13, and Chelsea Williams and Carla Blancafort contributed 9 points each.

Brookfield opened the season with a 43-32 win at Cortland-Lakeview on Nov. 22. Jackson Milton had opened the season with wins over United (49-45) and Heartland Christian School (53-20).

The home-opener for Coach Ken Forsythe's Lady Warriors is at noon Saturday against Mineral Ridge (0-1). The Rams suffered a 40-16 loss to Newton Falls on Wednesday.
