Lady Tigers hold on for senior night win

Sep. 29—The Lebanon girls soccer team held off North Montgomery to win 6-5 on senior night.

The Tigers got two goals from Addison Lollar, and one each from Ava Lehmkuhler, Maiya Newsom, Hanna Newsom and Karlee Roberts.

Lebanon led throughout and led 6-2 late in the game before North Montgomery's Teegan Bacon nearly brought her team back, making it 6-5 with less than two minutes to go. Bacon had four of the five Charger goals and surpassed the 100-goal mark for her career.

Before the match, Lebanon honored their four seniors — Emma Waskom, Maiya Newsom, Addison Lollar and Felicity Franks.

"All of them were leaders," Lebanon head coach Sam Parsons said. "The girls look up to them because they come out, work hard and give it everything they had over the years in the program. They really wanted to win tonight on their final home game and we made it happen. I am proud of what they have done for this program and how they have helped us be successful."

It is the third-straight win for the Tigers as they head into the regular-season finale Thursday at Lafayette Jeff.

Parsons said the Tigers are doing some good things and need to keep getting better before the sectional opener next week.

"We are happy with our progress, but there are some things we have to keep working on," Parsons said. "That's going to come from the girls coming out and working hard in practice and they have really been doing that the past couple of weeks and it is paying off. That effort is pulling us in the direction we want to go."
