Sadiq Khan was among the revellers who hit the dancefloor at Dawn Butler’s Jamaica-themed nightclub party on the second day of the Labour Party conference in Brighton.

Hundreds of clubbers partied until the early hours of Monday in the basement of Pryzm nightclub. The Brent Central MP tweeted she did not get to bed until past 7am.

Revellers paid £5 a head to party to Caribbean tunes, remixed with John Bercow’s famous ‘Order!’ cries, and drink rum punch.

The Mayor of London joked about Michael Gove’s dance moves when he addressed the crowd packed into the seafront club.

Referring to new housing secretary Mr Gove being filmed alone at a nightclub in Aberdeen last month, Mr Khan said: “The best place in Brighton in this conference week is Dawn Butler’s Jamaica party.

“I’ve got to tell you I saw Michael Gove coming to Brighton because Michael Gove likes dancing.

“So don’t be surprised if you see Michael Gove here.”

Others in attendance at the party included Nottingham East MP Nadia Whittome, Voice UK winner Jermain Jackman and ITV’s Robert Peston.
