Kyrie Irving chokes up addressing Nets fans: 'It's just hitting me now'
The time has finally come, folks: Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant are together on the court as Brooklyn Nets teammates at the Barclays Center when meaningful basketball is on the line.
The two came out for player introductions prior to Wednesday night’s season-opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves, although Durant, of course, is sidelined recovering from the Achilles injury he sustained during the NBA Finals.
Irving got emotional as he addressed the fan base, but Durant was fairly subdued when he walked out.
“I’m eternally grateful to be here, be back home in front of you guys with my teammates,” Irving said. “On behalf of us — oh man, I’m sorry, it’s just hitting me now — I appreciate you guys, and I look forward to you guys supporting us all season.”

Take a look at Durant’s walkout — one that will surely elicit totally rational responses, not at all reading into any part of this whatsoever. NBA fans would never.

But honestly, would you expect anything less than content ripe for speculation from a KD sighting? It’s the perfect way to christen the new season.
