Bubba Wallace is coming to Netflix.

The streaming platform announced Thursday that it’s working on a documentary series about Wallace and his first season with 23XI Racing, the brand-new NASCAR Cup Series team co-owned by Michael Jordan and fellow driver Denny Hamlin.

Netflix didn’t offer too many details about the new series, and the title and when it’s expected to be released weren’t included.

However, it did note: “The series will take viewers behind the scenes of the 2021 NASCAR season through the eyes of the only Black driver at the top level of the sport, and will explore Wallace, 23XI Racing, and NASCAR’s efforts to advocate for inclusion and equality in racing and beyond.”

Netflix has had some success with racing content over the years, particularly with its popular docuseries Formula 1: Drive to Survive, which just debuted its third season last month prior to the start of the F1 season. While the project on Wallace will obviously have a different subject and angle, fans can only hope the new, behind-the-scenes series will be as captivating and well-crafted as Drive to Survive.

Erik Parker — who directed the 2017 TV documentary L.A. Burning: The Riots 25 Years Later — is the executive producer and director of Netflix’s latest racing series.
