What to know about the BCIAA girls golf tournament

Sep. 25—WHEN, Where — Today at Willow Hollow Golf Course (white tees, par 70), Leesport. Tee times begin at 11:32 a.m.

Format: 18 holes, stroke play.

At stake: The top six finishers will receive medals. Any girl who shoots 104 or lower will qualify for the District 3 Tournament, which will be held Oct. 7-8 at Honey Run GC (Class 2A) and Briarwood East GC (Class 3A) in York.

Storyline: Two former champs will be in the field. Kutztown senior Emilee Barkley won last season. Wilson junior Kayla Maletto won two years ago, but was unable to compete a year ago due to a hand injury. Other returning medalists are Hamburg sophomore Erica Gerner, Oley Valley junior Jessica Howard and Gov. Mifflin junior Sara DeLoretta. Oley Valley senior Heidi Wegscheider was a medalist two years ago.
