Kings’ Tyrese Haliburton set the rookie mark for blocks in a game this season

On Friday, rookie Tyrese Haliburton turned in perhaps his finest defensive performance of the season to help lead the Sacramento Kings to a win over the New York Knicks to snap a four-game losing streak.

Haliburton produced 16 points, five rebounds, four blocked shots, two assists and two steals in 31 minutes off the bench during the 103-94 victory. His four blocks were the most by a rookie in a game this season, topping the previous mark of three by seven different players.

The 12th overall pick filled the stat sheet, and even provided great 1-on-1 defense on the Knicks. His timing playing the passing lanes was nearly perfect at times while his awareness seemingly put him in a position to make plays all night long.

The 12th overall pick throughout the season has played like a steal for the Kings. He brings an element of poise and maturity to the court every night and that has resulted in a strong start to his rookie campaign to this point with the Kings.
