Kim K. on celebrating the O.J. verdict at his house: 'I didn't even think it was a big deal'

On Kim Kardashian’s E! True Hollywood Story Sunday night, Kim opened up about life during the O.J. Simpson trial in 1995. Kim’s father, Robert, was not only good friends with O.J., but also part of his legal defense team. So when O.J. was found not guilty, it only seemed natural for Kim, who was just weeks away from turning 15, to celebrate at his house.

“All the kids stayed home from school and we saw the verdict, and afterwards my dad called us and was like, ‘OK, meet me at Uncle O.J.’s house. We’re all going to go there and celebrate,” Kim said. “Now if I tell people, like, ‘Oh yeah, I was at Uncle O.J.’s house right after the verdict.’ And I didn’t even think it was a big deal, it’s just, like, crazy to me to even think that was normal life.”

Kim also spoke about the increased scrutiny her family was under during the trial, division inside the family, the intrusive nature of the media coverage and what she took away from it.

“I remember driving into my dad’s house, and there’s news cameras,” Kim said. “It’s like, ‘Robert Kardashian’s mistress pulls up to his house.’ I was like, ‘This can’t be real. They lie like this?’ I learned the lesson of ‘Not everything is what you think it is.’”

E! True Hollywood Story airs Sundays at 10 p.m. on E!.
