The premiere event for the new Tampa Bay Times Author Series focuses on The Devil May Dance, a fast-paced political thriller packed with juicy stories about famous figures like Frank Sinatra, Robert Kennedy and Sam Giancana that will have you wondering which bits are fictional or factual.

I’ll be in conversation with the author of the novel, Jake Tapper, in a live virtual interview via Zoom. There will also be a viewer Q&A during which you can ask him whether that wild story about the trained attack ravens in The Birds is real or fanciful. Or you can ask Tapper about his day job as the lead Washington anchor for CNN, host of the weekday news show The Lead With Jake Tapper and co-host of the Sunday morning public affairs program State of the Union.

The virtual event will take place at 7 p.m. June 9. Tickets are $50 each and include admission to the live interview and Q&A and a hardcover copy of The Devil May Dance, tax and shipping included. Book sales will be handled by local independent bookstores Oxford Exchange Books and Tombolo Books.

Tickets are available now at tampabay.com/author-series/. Purchasers will receive their link to the interview a few days before the event.
