Here is a developing list of major auto racing events around Wisconsin in 2023, weighted toward the Milwaukee area. (The farther away an event is, the bigger it has to be to crack the list.) Factors considered include history, prestige, scope and prize money.

Sept. 24: Icebreaker 100, rescheduled from April, Dells Raceway Park, Wisconsin Dells

Sept. 30: IRA Sprints, Wisconsin Sprint Car Championships, season finale, Plymouth Dirt Track, Sheboygan County Fairgrounds

Oct. 5-8: Oktoberfest races, including ASA Midwest Tour Oktoberfest 200 season finale, La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway, West Salem
