Kentucky wide receivers coach Jovon Bouknight arrested on drunken driving charges

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky wide receivers coach Jovon Bouknight was arrested Saturday by the Erlanger (Kentucky) Police Department.

Bouknight was booked in the Kenton County jail at 3:56 a.m. on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs, alcohol, etc.; possession of an open alcohol beverage container in a motor vehicle and speeding 26 mph or more over the speed limit, according to the Kenton County Jail website.

Bouknight is scheduled to appear in court on May 14.

The university is aware of the arrest and handling the matter internally, according to a statement from a Kentucky spokeswoman.

Bouknight is entering his second season on Kentucky's staff after joining the program from Oregon in March 2020.

He previously coached at Oregon (2019), Texas Tech (2019) and Utah State (2008-2018). Bouknight was a standout player at Wyoming, finishing his career ranked 20th all time in receiving yards (3,626) and career receptions (250).
