Beautify Club memberships open

Keep Austin Beautiful is encouraging membership in its Beautify Club.

Last year, Keep Austin Beautiful engaged 12,229 volunteers in 54,497 hours of service, removed 59,790 pounds of litter, diverted 5,433 pounds of recycling from landfill and cleaned and restored over 124 miles of waterway.

Membership in the program provides the resources needed to engage youths and adults in impactful community service, with monthly donations to continue to beautify green spaces, waterways and neighborhoods.

Monthly donors will receive recognition on the website and annual report, early selection of a cleanup site for Keep Austin Beautiful Day, personal invitations to volunteer and donor events and commemorative Keep Austin Beautiful merchandise.

A cleaning effort at Lady Bird Lake will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. Dec. 11. This will be the last cleanup of the season.
