At long last, the Oregon Ducks finally are getting their defensive star back on the field.

As the players emerged from the tunnel for pre-game warmups, No. 5 was with them, fully suited in pads and looking ready to play. We will see how much time he gets.

After suffering an ankle injury early in the Week 1 game against the Fresno State Bulldogs, Kayvon Thibodeaux will finally return to the field at Autzen Stadium on Saturday night against the Arizona Wildcats. Thibodeaux was announced as part of the starting lineup ahead of Oregon’s conference opener.

Thibodeaux has spent the past three weeks resting his ankle after getting rolled up on early in the second quarter of Oregon’s first game. While are excited to see him playing once again, it may be a bit much to expect that he will play a full workload against the Wildcats. The Ducks are unlikely to need him in order to win the game, so risking further injury would not be smart.

However, it does serve as a great opportunity for No. 5 to knock the rust off and get some light work in live action ahead of Oregon’s trip to Palo Alto to take on Stanford a week from now.
