Katie Piper opens up about recent eye surgery as she posts recovery pic on Instagram
Katie Piper has opened up about her recent eye surgery.
Alongside a recovery selfie, the 35-year-old explained to her 877,000 followers that she “had a procedure on [her] left eye to cauterise the blood vessels” in it.
She added that the paler appearance of her “bad eye” - which is caused by the blood vessels “producing too much lipid fats” - impairs her vision.

Several people commented on the post, offering their support.
Radio and TV personality Fearne Cotton sent “loads of love” to the mum-of-two, as former Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips said: “You have been through so much and always a smile. You are a treasure and an inspiration.”
DJ Sarah Jane Crawford also sent her a heart emoji, while Steps singer Faye Tozer-Smith called Piper a “legend” as she wished her a speedy recovery.
“Youre such a positive force, Katie. What a wonderful role model you are. This is what positive body image is all about,” one passionate fan wrote, while another described her as a “queen.”
Just a few months ago, Piper spend ten days in hospital after she was diagnosed with sepsis.
“Ignored some symptoms because of being too busy and now I am in hospital with a bad infection,” she clarified on social media. "Moral of the story, always listen to your body. I am being looked after by some fantastic NHS nurses and doctors as always.”
