Kathy Griffin stood her ground during an awkward appearance on local news this week after a male anchor tried to correct her.

The comedian stopped by KTLA Channel 5 to promote an upcoming screening of her film, "Kathy Griffin: A Hell of a Story," which recounts her fall from grace following her 2017 photo shoot that faked the beheading of Donald Trump, and things got heated between her and Mark Kriski when she discussed the lack of work she has lined up for herself.

"By the way, I still do not have one single day of paid work ahead of me for the rest of my life," Griffin said to three male anchors and one female anchor. "Now you tell me that’s not because I’m a 58-year-old female in comedy. Yeah, take that, guys who make the decisions."

"I think there’s a lot of 58-year-old comedians that are working out there," Kriski said while interrupting her mid-sentence.

"Are ya?" Griffin shot back. "Name five women."

"I'm, uh, not into, uh, the comedy thing," he responded sheepishly.

"I thought so," Griffin replied. "What is this guy? What's with the new guy? Look, the point is that it's a male-dominated field, [and] I don't really want to hear your take on that."

"We got guests here every day," Kriski said back.

"Yeah, okay, that's alright, but you should know your stats, though," Griffin responded with an eye roll. "Um, anyway, working in a male-dominated field is something where I deal with that sort of thing every day. So, I spend most of my day trying to talk to older white guy and explain, 'I just want to do what I do.'"

Griffin tweeted a clip of the exchange following her KTLA appearance, writing, "Every once in a while, Momma has to get a little savage." After it went viral and garnered nearly a million views, Griffin replied to her own tweet thanking people for their support.

"Im very grateful for the support and the hilarious comments," she said. "May I be so bold as to ask if any of you guys know how to make gifs out of my facial expressions? I can’t stop laughing at myself I don’t exactly wear my emotions on my sleeves...of my shirt promoting @AHellOfAStory."
