Kate Middleton donned a dress fit for a princess, in order to follow through on a promise she made to a young girl earlier this month.
In a video from earlier this month, the duchess could be seen on the phone with five-year-old Mila Sneddon, a leukemia patient who was featured in a photo Middleton's photography book Hold Still.
During the call, Mila tells the Duchess of Cambridge, "Good morning, Your Royal Highness," adding that she knows her children's names, and asking if she has a "princess costume."
"I'm not wearing a princess costume right now I'm afraid, Mila," the duchess said.
"I'll have to make sure I try and find a pink dress," she said upon finding out Mila's favorite color is pink. "Hopefully when, one day, hopefully, Mia, we'll get to meet and then I'll wear remember to wear my pink dress for you."
On Thursday, the duchess fulfilled her promise when she and Mila met in person at the Palace of Holyroodhouse. Mila and her family live in Scotland, where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are currently touring. In photos and video from the encounter, Mila can be seen wearing her own princess dress.
In a video of their meeting, the duchess can be seen wearing a mask and keeping her distance, but miming a hug and complimenting Mila on her dress.
