Kate Middleton felt “big pressure” when choosing her children's names

From popular baby names to rare baby names and even baby names inspired by TV shows, parents-to-be face plenty of pressure when it comes to picking their newborn's name. And that's especially true when you're a royal. Take Kate Middleton for example who had to name not one, not two, but three royal children. We're sweating just thinking about it. And it turns out, Kate was too, as it's recently been revealed that she felt "big pressure" over choosing names for her three kids.
During a visit to a maternity unit earlier this week, Kate was shown around by Royal Surrey County Hospital's deputy director of midwifery, Amy Stubbs. "She was very relatable. She talked a lot about how it felt for her when she became a mother," Stubbs told People of the encounter.
"She just really talked about her own children including how they chose their names. A lot of the new mums and dads are thinking about how to choose names for their babies, and they spoke with her about how Kate and William made their choice," Stubbs added, referencing the Wales' three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
"She said they were their favourite names and that obviously the world was waiting for them to name their children — and that felt like quite a big pressure!" As for how the couple did decide their children's names, the method they used is certainly unique!
Recently, the royal children underwent a name change following the death of Queen Elizabeth II. With King Charles III ascending to the throne, Prince William inherited the Prince of Wales title and so his family's surname changed from Cambridge to Wales.
Similarly, growing up both Prince William and his brother Prince Harry (who is now the Duke of Sussex) went by the surname Wales, which they inherited from their father Prince Charles who held the Prince of Wales title at the time. At school the pair were known as the Wales brothers, and during their time in the army William was known as Lieutenant Wales with Harry taking the rank of Captain Wales.
When Prince William went on to marry Kate Middleton, the Queen gave him the title of the Duke of Cambridge – as such, their three children adopted the surname Cambridge, much like how Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie use the surname York, as their father holds the title the Duke of York.
