Justin Thomas takes a shot at Jimbo Fisher after winning PGA Championship

Justin Thomas was doing last week what many were doing: Watching and listening to Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher and Alabama football coach Nick Saban squabble.

After all the squabbling, Thomas won the PGA Championship in a playoff against Will Zalatoris on Sunday in Tulsa. Thomas was at one point eight shots behind the lead during his final round but finished with four birdies in his final 10 holes as others struggled.

Thomas, who went to the University of Alabama, sat down with SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio to talk about his win and was asked whether or not he had a 24-hour celebration rule like Saban and Alabama football.

"I've got a 24-hour rule," Thomas said. "I'm not sure what Jimbo Fisher's rule is but I guess he's gotta win something first before he figures out his rules."

Fisher has won a national title before, at previous stop Florida State. With the Aggies, Fisher's recruiting has been excellent (two top-5 classes since 2019) but has not completely reflected on the field yet in four seasons.

Saban said last week that the Aggies "bought every player on their team" in reference to the Aggies' top-rated 2022 recruiting class and their NIL tactics. Fisher held an impromptu press conference in response, called Saban a "narcissist," said he was done speaking to Saban and repeatedly implored reporters to look into Saban's past "tactics." The two coaches were publicly reprimanded by the SEC.
