Justin Bieber 'disappointed' after Arkansas QB vows to stop wearing Bieber shirt
If you ever hoped the worlds of Justin Bieber and college football would cross paths, this is your lucky day.
Back when he was at Texas A&M, Nick Starkel began wearing a Bieber t-shirt under his jersey during every game as a good luck charm. Starkel is a big Bieber fan dating back to 2011, and he continued wearing the shirt after transferring to Arkansas.
But he won’t be doing it anymore. Starkel threw five interceptions on Saturday in Arkansas’ loss to San Jose State, a team that had won a combined three games over the last two seasons. After the loss, Starkel fired off these tweets:
I let my brothers, my family, my coaches, my University and the whole state of Arkansas down... I promise that we will respond.

Bieber shirt has been ripped in half and thrown away. No more nonsense. No more distractions. All I’m focusing on is this team and this season. Nothing else. ✌🏼

Word got back to Bieber, who screenshotted an article about Starkel’s tweets and posted it to his Instagram story with the caption, “I’m disappointed.”

Bieber has 119 million followers, so that probably added insult to injury for Starkel after the loss. The quarterback later reposted Bieber’s story to his own feed with a few sad emojis thrown in.
Not the best weekend for Starkel, huh?
The loss dropped the Razorbacks to 2-2 on the year with a game against Texas A&M at the Dallas Cowboys’ stadium in Arlington, Texas, coming on Saturday. Starkel, who took the starting job from Ben Hicks earlier in the season, has thrown for 910 yards, seven touchdown and six interceptions on the season.
