Mar. 6—WILLMAR — The Willmar WarHawks' stretch of four games in four days has so far been fruitful.

After a victory against North Iowa on Thursday, Willmar notched another win Friday, beating the New Ulm Steel 6-1 at the Willmar Civic Center.

Lewis Rowan and Isaiah Thomas both had first-period goals for the WarHawks in the NA3HL game, followed by tallies by Jack Willis and Ethan Light in the second. In the third, Brady O'Brien got his first two goals of the season.

Cole Wigestrand, Gavin Uckele and Ethan Mock all had two assists in the victory.

Goaltender Will Pinney had 16 saves for Willmar, which outshot New Ulm 58-17.

The Steel's lone goal came in the second period from Ryler Schelle.

Willmar is host to the West Division-leading North Iowa Bulls at 8:10 p.m. Saturday. The two teams play again at 7:10 p.m. Sunday in Willmar.
