Junior Hockey: Mason City blasts past Willmar, 7-2
Nov. 29—WILLMAR — The Mason City Toros salvaged a weekend split with the Willmar WarHawks with a 7-2 victory Saturday night.
Mason City scored 10 seconds into the game and took advantage of numerous Willmar penalties before an announced crowd of 350 at the Willmar Civic Center Arena.
The WarHawks were called for 10 minutes totalling 46 minutes, including a fighting penalty for Ethan Mock and the Toros' Cal Levis. Elbridge Dekraai also was called for a 10-minute unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.
Willmar trailed 3-0 after the first period, but got two back in eight seconds midway through the second. Tyler Misialek scored at 13:59, then scored again unassisted at 14:07. It was the seventh and eighth goals of the season for the forward from Fargo, North Dakota.
Mason City, meanwhile, got goals from seven players. Willmar beat the Toros 4-1 on Friday in Mason City.
The WarHawks play at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday against the Alexandria Blizzard at the Willmar Civic Center Arena.
