Beloved Hoosier singer-songwriter John Mellencamp will play eight shows in four cities within his home state as part of a newly announced 2023 tour.

Mellencamp, who lives just outside Bloomington, will kick off the North American tour on Feb. 5-6 at Indiana University Auditorium. Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. Oct. 7 through Ticketmaster's website at bit.ly/3RkUHsB.

Presales for Citi cardholders begin on Oct. 4, while members of Mellencamp's mailing list may access tickets Oct. 5.

He will also play two shows each in Evansville (May 5-6 at the Old National Events Plaza), Fort Wayne (May 15-16 at the Embassy Theatre) and South Bend (June 23-24 at the Morris Performing Arts Center). There is not a scheduled stop in Indianapolis.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer also announced a reissue of 1985's "Scarecrow" set for Nov. 4. A "Scarecrow Deluxe" box set includes two discs of remixed and remastered songs, previously unreleased bonus tracks and alternate versions (including several "Small Town" demos), a booklet of rare photographs and new liner notes written by longtime Rolling Stone critic Anthony DeCurtis.

A Mellencamp addition to the Rock Hall's Legends of Rock exhibit also opened Thursday, featuring the suit worn in promotional photos for Mellencamp’s 2003 album "Trouble No More," his 1976 Fender Telecaster Custom guitar often played onstage and the studio tracking chart for “Jack and Diane” from 1981.
