Jimmies finish in third place at Yellow Jacket Invite

Oct. 5—BILLINGS, Mont. — The University of Jamestown was back in action to take part in the Yellow Jacket Invite on Monday, Oct. 3, and Tuesday, Oct. 4, at the Lake Hills Golf Course. The Jimmies were part of an eight-team field and finished in third place with a score of 22-over par.

The highest finishing Jimmie was Jackson Worner who finished in third place with a score of two-over par. The Jimmies team score was 12 strokes back of the South Dakota School of Mines in second and 23 strokes ahead of fourth place finisher Minot State University. After a first-round 71, Worner struggled in the second round getting a 75, before bouncing back with a third-round 72. The other Jimmies to participate in the event were Logan Douglas who finished in 14th with a score of seven over-par, Gehrig Geiss who finished in a tie for 15th with a score of eight over par. The fourth Jimmie to participate in the event was Benjamin Schaefer who finished in a tie for 25th with a score of 13 over par. The final Jimmie was Max Noffsinger who finished in 27th place at 14-over par.

The Jimmies also had two unaffiliated golfers in Adam Nedens and Carter Wells. Nedens finished in a tie for 12th with a score of 222. Wells finished in 34th with a score of 245.

The Jimmies are back in action on Monday, Oct. 10, when they take part in the University of Sioux Falls Invite.
