Jeremih is leaving the ICU as he continues his COVID-19 recovery, according to the singer's mother and multiple reports.

In an interview Sunday with ABC7 Chicago, which reports the 33-year-old singer was transferred after being taken off a ventilator, Jeremih's mother, Gwenda Starling, shared her sense of relief.

"I get so teary-eyed but I get so joyful at the same time because he's pulling through," she said. "We've been praying that he can be home by Thanksgiving. It may be a bit much to ask God, but I figure we've been asking for everything else."

TMZ, Entertainment Tonight and Billboard also received a statement from a family spokesperson about the singer's health development.

"Jeremih has been transferred out of ICU. He will spend the rest of his recovery time in a regular hospital room," the statement read. "The true healing begins. Thank you all for your continued prayers and wishes."

Starling also shared the toughest challenges in Jeremih's battle with the virus, which has kept him in a Chicago hospital since Nov. 5, according to the outlet.

"Things seemed like, all of a sudden, to attack his body," she described. "That virus viciously attacked every organ in his body. His body was shutting down and they were telling me every day for a week that he just wasn't getting better."

She also spoke about the emotional toll it has taken on the family.

"It was a tremendous nightmare. The whole family was just so saddened and just shocked, first of all," Starling said. "After we got out of that whole shock thing, it was like 'OK, we've got to pray.'"

Since Jeremih first landed in the hospital, stars have rallied behind him on social media.

On Nov. 14, Chance The Rapper tweeted, "Please if you can take a second to pray for my friend Jeremih, he is like a brother to me and he’s ill right now. I believe in the healing power of Jesus so if you can for me please please say a prayer over him"

On Nov. 15, 50 Cent shared, "Thank you for praying for my boy Jeremih he is responsive today, doing a little better."

Toni Braxton tweeted, "Keeping Jeremih in my prayers."

Jeremih is best known for his 2014 hit "Don't Tell 'Em," which peaked at number six on the Billboard Hot 100. He is also known for other hits including 2010's "Down on Me" and 2015's "Planez."
