J.Lo's hairstylist reveals the $28 trick to the star's SAG Awards updo

Jennifer Lopez might play a character who’s obsessed with money and luxury in Hustlers, but the A-lister’s beauty routine was quite the opposite. Only two products were responsible for the star’s sleek updo at the Screen Actors Guild Awards — and both are available on Amazon.
Color Wow Creative Director and celebrity hairstylist, Chris Appleton, first prepped Lopez’s hair with Color Wow Dream Coat Supernatural Spray ($28), to create a base and add shine. The heat-activated spray also helps keep humidity at bay for up to three shampoos.
Next, Appleton — who’s also the mastermind behind Kim Kardashian’s stunning mane — blow-dried Lopez’s locks and added a bit of wave using a 3-inch curling wand. To create the bun, he separated her hair into two sections and made a ponytail. Next, he took the top section and wrapped it around the ponytail, creating a top knot bun. He secured stray strands with bobby pins, and flat ironed the two pieces framing the star’s face, giving her a 90s-inspired look.
Finally, to ensure the style would hold, he spritzed on Color Wow Cult Favorite Firm + Flexible Hairspray ($24). The quick-drying formula doesn’t make your hair stiff or dull and works on all hair types, from curly to straight. Reviewers love how easily they can comb their hair after applying the spray, and how simple it is to re-style.
