Police have arrested two people after a missing boy was found “safe and well” almost a week after he first disappeared.

Jamie O’Sullivan, who went missing from an address in Ridgeway last Wednesday, is now receiving support from specialist officers.

South Yorkshire Police said a woman, 45, had been arrested earlier today on suspicion of an offence under the Children Act.

A 16-year-old boy from Sheffield was also arrested on suspicion of the same offence and both remain in custody.

Extra patrols were said to have taken place in the area to try and find the missing boy.

Officers previously thought he may have been staying with someone he knew.

South Yorkshire Police also said they had received information suggesting individuals were deliberately hindering officers' efforts to find the schoolboy.
