James River Figure Skating Club has successful run at Holiday Classic

Nov. 30—GRAND FORKS, N.D. — The James River Figure Skating Club Competitive Team was back in action to participate in the 11th annual Holiday Classic Figure Skating competition from Friday, Nov. 18-Nov.19 at the Purpur Arena.

The team had 24 skaters participating in the events with the skaters having 20 first-place finishes. The skaters also had 40 top-five finishes.

The most successful of the skaters was Siri Tweten who had four first-place finishes. Tweten finished first in the spins category, compulsory category, free skate category, and artistic category. The second most successful skater was Maci Ogren who finished in first in the compulsory, free skate, and artistic categories. Brinley Bear also finished atop the podium in three categories as she finished in first in the compulsory, free skate, and artistic categories. Alice Perleberg and Jenna Mazur both racked up two first-place finishes as both finished first in the compulsory and free skate categories.
