When will Jacksonville stores open on Black Friday? What deals will they have?
Black Friday brings a variety of deals this year, with many stores beginning their sales in early November and extending them past Nov. 26 both online and in stores.
Although the pandemic is still causing supply chain disruptions that are keeping food and other consumer goods from reaching store shelves, among other concerns such as rising prices, that won't stop stores from putting out big-ticket items for low prices on one of the biggest shopping days of the year.

JCPenney General Manager Catherine Fox is especially excited for Black Friday, and said she's thrilled to have inventory coming in. She said they have a lot of great sales and they've taken measures to make sure customers feel safe while they shop, such as disinfecting all doors, handles, and touchable surfaces every hour. Employees also still wear masks and enforce social distancing.
"We really do care about the safety of our customers," said Fox. "We are really proud of our staff. We have an amazing team to help give great customer service."
Although many stores will not be open on Thanksgiving, a few select stores will be. Locally, shoppers can head to Big Lots, CVS, Dollar General, Family Dollar, Five Below, Michael’s, and Walgreens.
Here’s a list of stores holding Black Friday deals, and when they plan to open for shoppers in the Jacksonville area.
Walmart
Walmart began Black Friday sales by holding their second annual “Black Friday Deals for Days,” with three events throughout the month of November.
Event one began online on Nov. 3, and in stores on Nov. 5, while event two began online on Nov. 10, and in stores on Nov. 12. Event three began online on Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. and will continue in stores on Nov. 26, Black Friday, at 5 a.m.
Walmart will not be open on Thanksgiving.

Target
Target’s week-long Black Friday deal began Sunday, and will run through Saturday, Nov. 27, both online and in stores.
Deals are expected to include electronics, toys, kitchen appliances, vacuums, video games, apparel, beauty and more.
Target is planning to open at 7 a.m. on Black Friday and will be closed on Thanksgiving.

Belk
Belk’s “Ultimate Black Friday Bash” began on Nov. 19 and will continue through Saturday, Nov. 27 both online and in stores.
Belk will open on Black Friday at 7 a.m. for in-store, curbside, and same-day delivery, but will be closed on Thanksgiving.
Belk is also doing a $2 million gift card giveaway, with four $500 winners at every store. The giveaway will take place on Black Friday at 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., and then on Saturday Nov. 27 at 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. with more than 280 winners each day in each store. Winning gift card values range from $5-$500.

JCPenney
JCPenney’s Black Friday sale will begin on Black Friday and continue through Sunday, Nov. 28 both online and in stores, although they have had some pre-Black Friday deals going on, especially on jewelry.
Fox said popular items for sale will include gifts like cozy sweaters, beauty, and bulk electronic items such as air fryers and record players.
Every purchase will enter customers into the Share the Joy Sweepstakes, with a large range of gifts available, including a trip to New York, according to Fox.
Stores will open at 5 a.m. on Black Friday but will be closed on Thanksgiving to allow employees to be with their families, Fox said.

Jacksonville Mall
According to a press release, the Jacksonville Mall will be closed on Thanksgiving to allow retail employees to enjoy the holiday with their families. The mall will open at 7 a.m. on Black Friday for "the traditional early start to the traditional shopping weekend."

Big Lots
Big Lots’ Black Friday deals begin on Thanksgiving, and continue through Sunday, Nov. 28.
Big Lots’ Thanksgiving sales are one-day only and stores will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Then beginning on Black Friday at 6 a.m. through Sunday, they will have three-day deals.

Best Buy
Best Buy’s Black Friday sales started on Nov. 19.
The store will be closed on Thanksgiving and will open on Black Friday at 5 a.m. and close at 10 p.m.
Some of the big ticket items on sale will include the Nintendo Switch, Dyson Vacuums, and Ring doorbells.

Old Navy
Old Navy will be closed on Thanksgiving but will open at 5 a.m. on Black Friday.
Old Navy’s Black Friday deals will include 50% off your purchase both in stores and online, and if you shop in store on Nov. 27 or 28, you’ll get up to 50% off storewide on sale items. This deal extends to online from Nov. 27 through Nov. 29, or Cyber Monday.

Black Friday sales for Kohl's started Sunday and will run through Black Friday.
Stores will be closed on Thanksgiving but will open at 5 a.m. on Black Friday for their super deals.
